What do you like most about being part of O'Brien?
O’Brien is really all about supporting your passions, dreams, and goals – certainly for our clients, but also for our team. Take me for an example: after 20 years in computer engineering, wealth management is my second act. O’Brien gave me the opportunity to realize my dream and I couldn’t be happier.
Can you share one secret to success that has been helpful to you in your career?
Sometimes you need to look a little deeper and not take things at surface level when assessing their value. For example, in our field, we provide expertise in managing investments but there’s additional value in the advice, planning, and discipline we offer. It’s all designed to assist you to achieve your goals and help you sleep at night.
If wealth management were an ocean, what kind of creature would you be?
I would be an Electric Eel. I have a background in electrical engineering and I am responsible for a lot of the systems and technology in our office. Sometimes I walk into a room and systems just fix themselves. It’s further evidence of the ionic charge that I am emitting…and on rare occasions I even shock myself!
What would your co-workers say is your superpower?
Ultimate Problem Solver. I enjoy the challenge of analyzing the symptoms, identifying what is wrong and finding the solution. It’s a good feeling to identify the underlying factors, eliminate the bugs, and restore something to its true glory. I saved it!
You're a new addition to the crayon box, what color would you be?
Steel-Grey. My coworkers describe me as steady, solid and supportive. Grey is also a combination of black and white, which represents my thinking to some degree. In engineering answers tend to be black and white, but I also have the ability to see the grey areas. Also, black and white stands for those old fashioned things I still enjoy reading!
